THE PLAYERS

DAVID WILLS (LEAD VOCALS) VANCOUVER bc

In a career spanning more 50 years, vocalist David Wills still expresses the onstage exuberance that has been his signature since the beginning. Rock, Soul, and Country were the main ingredients of the 1960’s pop radio that served as Wills’ earliest musical menu, and over the course of a life in music, he’s  cooked with all of them.

Wills is best known as co-Lead Singer/Songwriter of Canadian recording and touring group, Stonebolt, who achieved International success in the '70s and ’80s. Other musical associations include the critically acclaimed Seattle band, Shaker, and Vancouver's most popular soul review, The Dynamics.

Wills has worked in commercial recording studios writing, producing and performing on jingles and radio spots. He has also co-produced and managed several country bands and singers, including a Top 20 artist on CMT.

The times may have changed, but David Wills' recipe of Rock, Soul, Blues and Roots remains as tasty as ever!

ESTEE GRAHAM (VOCALS) RANCHO MIRAGE CALIFORNIA

Originally from Southern California, Estee Graham spent a great deal of her musical career living and performing outside the mainland US. With a career spanning over 30 years, and past residencies in Japan, Aruba and Hawaii, she has also entertained audiences all over the continental US and performed on the high seas as a guest entertainer for Princess Cruise Lines.

From large-scale productions shows, top 40 corporate entertainment bands to intimate Jazz club and cabaret settings, her Front-woman chops are highly respected by fans and colleagues alike. Estee's range and versatility appeal to a wide cross section of musical tastes, and her love and passion for music shine through in every performance.

Fairly new to the Coachella Valley music scene, Estee arrived in Palm Springs for a one-month-long reprieve, fell in love with the Desert's all-inclusive vibe, the people....and never left. She is excitedly engaged with creative endeavors with many of the Valley's local entertainers, and grateful to the community for such a warm welcome!

Dan French started playing drums professionally at the age of 15.  His passion for rhythm has taken him to venues, clubs and studios in the U.S. and

Internationally.  As both a drummer and percussionist, Dan believes it’s all about the groove.  He plays all genres of music from R&B and Funk to Latin, bringing the feel of the music to the musicians he plays with and the audiences he’s playing for.

JIM WIDDIFIELD (KEYS) VANCOUVER CANADA

Jim is a founding member of the Funk Monks. His musical roots go back to pursuing a music degree and teaching piano as a teenager, as well as doing some occasional performing. He stepped away from music for a number of years due to business obligations, but got involved again in the late '90s and hasn't looked back. A major tragedy in his life happened in 2013 when he lost his only child. At that point, he dedicated his life to music (in his son's name) by using it as a means to help others including charities and other musicians. Now Jim's time is spent playing with bands in his hometown of Vancouver and in the desert,  composing and producing music, promoting and managing acts or sitting in with many musical luminaries on a regular basis. Jim is now fulfilling his love of music the only way he knows how..."Full Speed Ahead"

KELLY BREAKS (BASS) VANCOUVER CANADA

Kelly is known best around the Vancouver music scene as a record, video and concert producer, and the co-owner of Blue Frog Studios in White Rock, BC. He was also a recording and touring bassist with Mushroom Records recording artists, 14 Karat Band, and recording artists, White Rock Band, with members of Bachman Turner Overdrive and Trooper. Kelly and Bob Gross trade off on bass duties with the band due to Kelly’s travel and work schedule. The Funk Monks are very fortunate to work with these two talented musicians.

TONY BOLIVAR (SAX/FLUTE) LA QUINTA CALIFORNIA

Tony has been teaching and performing professionally as a musician for over fifty years. It must be ingrained in him as he comes from an extremely talented family with two brothers who are also well-known saxophone players. A veteran of the United States Air Force Band and a graduate of San Jose State University, he is one of the founding members of the Funk Monks plus director and mentor of the in-demand special needs band, the Dream Achievers. Usually accompanied by his wife Teresa on piano, Tony is Music Director and Associate Pastor at Las Palmas Community Church. He has also played with the Drifters. Tony’s exuberance and zest for life are shown in every performance on stage.
